The short version
ChatMew is a place to talk to new people. We collect only what we need to run the app, keep you safe and make it better. We don't sell your personal data.
What we collect
- Account details — your phone number or sign-in ID, display name, age confirmation and preferred languages.
- What you share — messages, voice-room participation, game activity and anything you choose to put on your profile.
- Safety data — reports you make or receive, and signals from automated moderation used to detect abuse.
- Device and usage data — app version, device type, crash logs and how features are used, so we can fix bugs.
How we use it
- To match you with people who speak your language and to run chats, rooms and games.
- To keep ChatMew safe: moderating content, reviewing reports and enforcing our Community Guidelines.
- To improve the app and tell you about important changes.
Who sees it
Other users see your display name, profile and what you post in chats and rooms. Our safety team can review content that is reported or flagged. We use trusted service providers (for hosting, analytics and moderation) who process data only on our instructions. We may share information when the law requires it or to protect someone from harm.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, block or report people, and delete your account from the app at any time. When you delete your account we remove your personal data, except what we must keep for legal or safety reasons.
Age
ChatMew is only for people aged 18 and over. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we close it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app. Questions? Reach us through the contact details listed in the app.
